Royalty, Red Roads, Rebels
It took us a few days, but this morning we decided it was time to head to Covent Garden and hook up with the Sandeman's Free Walking Tour of London.
It took us a few days, but this morning we decided it was time to head to Covent Garden and hook up with the Sandeman's Free Walking Tour of London.
From Abbey Road to Charing Cross, from Trafalgar Square to 221B Baker Street, we spend a few days exploring London.
› Traveling around the world is much easier than it was back in 1873 when Jules Verne wrote about the circumnavigational exploits of adventurer Phileas T. Fogg in Around the World in Eighty Days. This is due, mostly, to the pocket-sized computers many of us carry with us everywhere we go—and the apps that run on those computers.
Stratford-upon-Avon is, of course, the legendary birthplace of William Shakespeare. And, naturally, we were visiting the historic site to take in some Shakespearean culture. And we certainly found a lot of it.
Today is World Elephant Day, so Frankie and Jackie we thought this was a good time to tell you why, even though there were plenty of opportunities, we didn't ride elephants on our trip around the world.
After we left Brighton on Wednesday, our next goal was Stratford-upon-Avon. But we went the long way around and checked out Mapperton Gardens and the Jurassic Coast.
We spent two days in the city of Brighton hanging out with some friends we met in Bali.
Très internationale!
We were surprised how scenic Germany is. We crossed the country four times during the European portion of our trip, which allowed us to see quite a bit of a rather large country. Here are a few of those things that we experienced.
Monday morning it was straight outta Bruges and right into Calais so we could catch the ferry across the English Channel to Dover. This would be our last day in the Schengen Area until Iceland. And it wasn't long before we saw the White Cliffs and arrived in Dover.
Our triumphant return to Belgium brought us to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Bruges, a small but charming town that was quite pleasant to visit.
