COSTA RICA
We started our adventure in Costa Rica. We weren’t yet in full travel mode, and we made a few rookie mistakes on our first day of long-term international travel.
We spent most of our time in the region around the Arenal volcano and the Costa de Pájaros with a brief visit to Puntarenas.
You’ll find a written record of these days in the posts listed below and a visual record of our Costa Rica adventures in the gallery to the right.
Enjoy!

We decided to go ziplining. As a bonus, we swam in hot springs, drank piña coladas, and got caught in the rain.
A Delicious Local Treat
While we were in Puntarenas, we had to try Granizados dos Leches (translates as slushies two milks). It's shaved ice with flavoring, powdered milk, and condensed milk.

We take a long drive into the Costa Rican rainforest.
A Howling Cry Echoes through the Jungle

Wednesday, 20-8-2014. Day 1. Mistakes Were Made.
Our first day on the road was a little frustrating, but we learned a lot. The important thing is to not make the same mistakes twice.

We knew we were going to eat well in Costa Rica!
