Greece

Greece is really, really old. It’s the birthplace of democracy, the site of the first-ever Olympic games, and a place where you can stumble across ancient ruins around quite literally every corner.

We visited at the time of the debt crisis, and while we weren’t the only people touring the country, things felt a lot quieter than we were expecting.

We also spent a week on the island of Crete, a little slow travel before we threw ourselves into the dizzying pace of driving through continental Europe.
