When you don't book things yourself, you don't really have any control over what happens. Fortunately, it works out all right ... this time.
A stop in Bulls, then a fantastic evening in Wellington.
We spend a day relaxing in Ohakune, a town famous for carrots.
Our fourth day in New Zealand, we see the elusive kiwi and the bioluminescent glowworms.
Our plan today was to pack up and leave Sandspit, then head south of Auckland to get to Camp Kiwi, another motor camp that was adjacent to the Kiwi House, one of the places that offered a chance to see kiwis.
After a nice walk along Muriwai Beach, we drove up to Sheepworld and got a hands-on demonstration of what it takes to shear a sheep.
After flying 34 hours on five planes in the past eight days, we're relieved we wouldn't have to get on a plane for two weeks. At least until we saw how big the camper van we'd be driving around these small islands was.
Day 19. A funny thing happened on the way to New Zealand ... our misadventures in the Sydney International Airport.
