Our next stop was the tiny country of Liechtenstein, the last vestige of the Holy Roman Empire. But to get there, we had to pass through Switzerland and head into the Alps. In a thunderstorm.

The Principality of Liechtenstein is a small country, only 61 square miles or so, known as "the last monarchy in the heart of the Alps." It's a very picturesque country, and here's a little of what we saw on our short visit.
