Saturday, 04-07-2015. Day 318
New Shoes and an Ancient Wall
Way back around the year 120, Roman Emperor Hadrian built a giant wall too keep the wildmen out of the northern border of the Roman Empire. Parts of that wall still stand today.
Friday, 03-07-2015. Day 317
Codebreaking and Pancakes
We leave London at last and head north, stopping at Milton Keynes and visit Bletchley Park, home of the World War II codebreakers before venturing on to the small town of Olney (home to a very unusual race).
A look into what London is ... and what it isn't
And it’s weirder than you think
As we've mentioned a few times, the City of London is but a small part of what most people consider to be London. But what makes London different from the City of London? It's complicated ...
Venturing Further Out into London
Rain, Royal Gardens, Longitude, and Tennis
We spent a lot of time in London, and that included some adventures into the wilds of Greater London, a really huge collection of boroughs and neighborhoods surrounding the City of London.
Unusual, Iconic, and Interesting Finds in London
Werewolves, Cabmen, Golden Boys, and Bears
We spent a total of 18 days in and around London so we were able to investigate many of the city’s interesting sights and iconic landmarks.
The Tower of London (And More)
Paint, Armor, Murder, Theater, Bridges.
Even though our Royal London Walking Tour was over, we just kept going to see what else London had to offer the world traveling family.
Tuesday, 23-06-2015. Day 307
Royalty, Red Roads, Rebels
It took us a few days, but this morning we decided it was time to head to Covent Garden and hook up with the Sandeman's Free Walking Tour of London.
A Few Days in The Great Smoke
Beatles, Bears, Holmes, and Much More
From Abbey Road to Charing Cross, from Trafalgar Square to 221B Baker Street, we spend a few days exploring London.
Friday, 19-06-2015. Day 303
Shakespeare, Shakespeare, and Some Shakespeare
Stratford-upon-Avon is, of course, the legendary birthplace of William Shakespeare. And, naturally, we were visiting the historic site to take in some Shakespearean culture. And we certainly found a lot of it.
Wednesday, 17-06-2015 & Thursday, 18-06-2015
Days 301 & 302
After we left Brighton on Wednesday, our next goal was Stratford-upon-Avon. But we went the long way around and checked out Mapperton Gardens and the Jurassic Coast.
Tuesday, 16-06-2015 & Wednesday, 17-06-2015
Days 300 & 301
We spent two days in the city of Brighton hanging out with some friends we met in Bali.
Très internationale!
Monday, 15-06-2015. Day 299
On a Ferry from Calais to Dover
Monday morning it was straight outta Bruges and right into Calais so we could catch the ferry across the English Channel to Dover. This would be our last day in the Schengen Area until Iceland. And it wasn't long before we saw the White Cliffs and arrived in Dover.
Friday, 10-07-2015 — Sunday, 12-07-2015
Day 324 — Day 326
After nearly a month, we were getting ready to leave England behind. But first we had to play video games ... a lot of video games.
