Share The Love of Reading This Valentine's Day
As a family, we don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Yes, we go overboard making Valentines for school friends, but Feb. 14th is just another day in our household. Early on in our relationship, Tom told me that he loved me everyday and didn’t need a special, manufactured holiday to remind him of his feelings. I must admit, receiving flowers “just because” on a random Tuesday in August is pretty wonderful.
It’s not that we don’t love a holiday about LOVE. Our biggest complaint about Valentine’s Day is that everything is so overpriced for that one day.
And if you are looking for some book recommendations, we have a few:
Samantha - The Magicians (series) by Lev Grossman.
What happens when you combine the Oz, Narnia and Harry Potter series with a healthy dose of real-world cynicism? The Magicians happens. I loved every word.
Frankie - Call of the Wild by Jack London.
A very emotional adventure story for people who like dogs.
Jackie - The Witches of Dredmoore Hollow by Riford McKenzie.
"I read this book four times, I might go read it again. The book is very descriptive. It's not that scary."
And for more recommendations, check out the books we've read on our journey about the places we've visited.
This Valentine’s Day, we cannot imagine anything better than sharing the love of reading. Let us know what books you love.
